Whilst looking for the perfect wedding band for my finance and I. I have caught the diamond bug again!!! I had thought I had got over my addiction having bought the engagment ring but alas no.

So I decided to buy diamond studs for my finance in the WF 3 prong martini setting to suprise her on our wedding day. However with the wedding jest two weeks away and living in the uk I fear I have left it a mite late.

For my budget WF came up with a couple of recommendations which they kindly shipped in. But on putting the numbers in the HC adviser they appear as 4.0 and 4.3. Is this too high for decent light performance. I''ve attached the images / stats and would appreciate your kind advise.

Can you post all the proportions and carat weight please? The IS are showing some leakage, the rest of the info would be useful, what is the WF verdict on these?

WF conceeded that the proportions would not yield ideal light performance, but thought that they did look pretty and would serve well as earrings.

Then that is the main thing, sure they are not super douper louper, but for earrings in that size they could be very pretty stones if they are what you are looking for. Did WF have any in house stones available which fit your requirements?

What a wonderful idea for a wedding present!

How sweet you are to surprise your bride with earrings! I like how YOU are catching the diamond bug!

The diamonds do show some leakage as Lorelei said, but if WF says they would make pretty earrings, they might be ok. Good luck!

I'll be honest, but disclose I'm a pickier cut nut. I would rather go for better looking studs myself (I own a pair of ACA's, I know how gorgeous they are). Here's a pair of J's, and a pair of I's I found. I have no idea what color you had or budget. But these would both make a stunning pair of earrings. Feel free to ignore!

Diamond seeker ask them to find you a shallow pair - they should be an equally low cost alternative and you will get a bigger spread and more light return at the edges. Side by side (especially after being worn and a bit dirty) the shallow stones will appear 20% larger. The only time you will see darkness in the stones is when YOU are close up - very close. Anyone else gets that close she should take them out!
