Diamond Shopping in Philly

Is it possible to find beautifully cut diamonds sold by reputable jewelers on Sansom Street? I have been looking for diamonds on the internet, but wonder if I might be better off seeing stones in person. Philadelphia is much more accessible to me that New York and less intimidating as I grew up in the suburbs of Philly. Will they have larger, quality stones?

My neighbors on Jeweler''s Row have many diamonds to look at and admire. Some of these retailers will spend lots of time with you and be very helpful. Obviously, some will be the opposite. You will get pressured occasionally to make a decision. You''ll have different experiences with different sellers. Most will be good to excellent and a few will probably make you wish for more Internet.

Many people do buy from live retailers in stores. Many people now buy from live people over the Internet. Every method can prove a great experience and once in a while every method proves it isn''t perfect.

The worst ways to buy a supererb diamond is in an impersonal situation where you order based on a written description with no human interaction, or from a person who works at a counter that knows little or nothing about the product and is simply a human order taker.
