Hi everyone. I am new to this forum, but have been reading over posts the last several days in an effort to become more knowledgeable about the process of purchasing a diamond (i have been researching for probably the last 5 months, but only found this message board recently). anyways, i wanted to know what everyone thought about this diamond. also, if anyone has any experience dealing w/ the vendor (B2Cjewels.com)...I checked them out online and they seem like a solid company. Anyways, here is the diamond cert. and what not that I am looking at.

thanks everyone for the help. I ran it through the hca and it came out to a 1.3

any comments are well appreciated!

Looks promising from the numbers.

ya, I thought so too. I have emailed their reps and asked them if they could have a gemologist take a look at it. I know it is an SI1, but I just want to make sure that it is eye clean.

Any other advice is welcomed!

I am also looking into a 1.75c si2 h color triple x that scored a 2.3 on the hca. I put in a request w/ Blue Nile to have a gemologist look at this one as well to see if it is eye clean. I know it is hard to find an eye clean si2 but my fingers are crossed.

here is the info for that one.

between trying to find a good value and keeping all of this a secret from my gf this is a stressful process. thanks again for the help.6137912925.jpg

well the blue nile gemologist got back to me. here was their response.

Per your request, I had our gemologist pull the diamond from the vault to perform as "eye-clean" visual on it. His findings were that diamond is 100% eye clean and that it is an exceptional SI2. "Eye clean" means that a layperson examining the diamond face-up from a distance of twelve to fifteen would not be able to see any inclusions, but it is not a guarantee that no inclusions would ever be visible no matter how closely you scrutinized the diamond.

Thoughts? I always have HUGE buyer dissonance when making purchases, so I want to be as informed as possible.

is that 'eye-clean' to your standards? you could always get it sent to you unset and check it out since BN has a good return policy.

To me, as long as when the average person looks at it they cannot see any flaws, I am good with that. The whole twelve to fifteen inches thing scares me though for some reason. I would prefer to talk to the gemologist while they are looking at the diamond rather than having this go between sales rep...

Right now it is between the two diamonds I've posted.

The first from b2c is about $13,000. 1.6c si1 color h w/ a 1.3 grading on the HCA.

Second is the BlueNile at about $13,500 1.75c si2 (supposedly eye clean) color h w. 2.3 grading on the hca/

I know that an excellent grade on the hca is < 2, but will being 2.3 really make that much of a difference?

is the b2c diamond eye-clean?

I am not sure yet. I have contacted them to have a gemologist take a look at it.

W/ my gf...I know she would rather have a bigger stone; however, i really don't want to have to compromise quality by that much to get the larger size within by price range.

got the reports back on the two stones.

the reports are as follows:

B2C Report
There is a small black inclusion in the pavilion which reflects in the corner of the table & crown, this stone is 80% Eye clean. Its's a good SI1 stone.

Blue Nile Report
His findings were that the diamond is 100% eye clean and that it is an exceptional SI2. "Eye clean" means that a layperson examining the diamond face-up from a distance of twelve to fifteen would not be able to see any inclusions, but it is not a guarantee that no inclusions would ever be visible no matter how closely you scrutinized the diamond.

Well, based on these findings, the B2C diamond is out of the running. I am going to check out some local places this weekend to see what their inventory looks like. If i can't find anything I like, I am going to order the one from Blue Nile. I am hesitant to spend that much money without even seeing the product, but I feel like I've done all i can (asked them to pull the diamond, talked to their consultant for like an hour, etc.) so i will have to bank on their return policy if the diamond isn't what I am looking for.
