"Here is a 1.03 diamond, F, VS2, GIA certified, Ideal cut as per GIA".

I asked how they know the stone is a GIA ideal and how they know the cut is good. They said "as long as it falls within the guidelines of GIA ideal cut, then the difference doesn''t matter"....."when you are on the sand on the beach on your honeymoon, there is no difference"....the time and money you save will be better off on the beach on your honey moon".....
 
GIA doesn't have an established ideal cut. They don't even refer to ideal cut in their grading classes. They only describe some of those proportions as being 'preferred by the trade'.

Maybe it was the AGS ? the Atlas grade?...but you would want that on paper
 
Yes GIA does not grade cut, at least not yet. They are reputed to start grading cut very soon. What seems to be lacking here is honesty. I would shop elsewhere
