May I ask how you know that the jeweller is ordering stock settings? It says on their website that they “ uses the “lost wax” technique, meaning his jewellery begins life as a hand or machine carved wax model. This model is then used to make a mould for the chosen precious metal.”
I assumed this meant they actually manufactured the ring themselves as they have a workshop to cast and make all their own jewellery.
Because they look just like a stock setting. As someone mentioned previously, it looks as if they're picking a band and a head and putting them together, with no real styling. If they aren't stock and are made there, then I'd still recommend any of the other settings posted here, for the simple fact that they look much better than what your jeweler has shown you thus far. This is just my opinion, of course... but I'd hate for you to pay for a "custom" ring that looked worse than a quality made stock setting.
