Diamond Setting Ring Advice Needed please

Hi,
Thank you all for people in the forum that have helped me to be a more educated diamond buyer. The forum really helped me making educated decision in purchasing my diamond. Now, it is with me..it is time for the setting. I like Tiffany Novo style which basically center stone set in 4 prong setting and there are 8 stones each side on the band for total .16-.20 carat and band width 2-2.5mm

My center stone is 1.23 G/Vs2. When I ask my jeweler to make setting similar to Tiffany Novo style, she suggested to make it with 14/16 stones for total .5crt. She said 16 pieces for total .20 carat are very tiny. With bigger side stones, it will bring up the center stone size (which I don''t understand why..I thought vice verse).My worry is with 1/2 carat total sides stones, the band will be very wide vs. the Tiffany band (will it?)


On your opinion, if I want a similar setting to Tiffany Novo,
1. How many sides stones/side and how much carat total should I go for? For info, my finger is tiny.
2. Is it true too small sides stones will bring down the center stone?

I''d go with your gut and get the same proportions as the Novo if that is what you love. I also think that if the sidestones are bigger the center gets more lost...
