Am having difficulty distinguishing among the following diamonds. All are within the color/clarity ranges I''m looking for, all are within a range of about $700, all seem to check out on the HCA, and all seem (to me at least) to have similar ASET/Idealscope results. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

1.32/GIA EX/H/VS1 P/S are both Excellent, no fluorescence
1.42/GIA EX/H/VS2 P/S are both Excellent, has a strong fluorescence
1.39/GIA EX/G/VS2 P/S are both Excellent, no fluorescence
1.508/AGS 0/I/SI1 P/S are Ideal, negligible fluorescence
1.503/AGS 0/I/VS2 P/S are Ideal, negligible fluorescence

FWIW, I''m very slightly leaning to the 1.42 H, but am wondering what the consequences of its strong fluorescence will be for everyday wear.

I can see why you are having trouble, they are all fabulous diamonds! You wouldn't go wrong choosing any of them.

The only concern on strong fluoro is that some stones with strong or very strong fluorescence can have an oily, hazy appearance. I cannot believe that Jon would select a stone with that issue for his lifetime guarantee, but you can always call and ask. Other than that all you might notice is slight bluish quality to the reflected light in stong sunlight or if you put the diamond under a black light, it will glow blue. Some people love fluorescence in diamonds, others don't--it is completely a personal preference, with no wrong answer.

Thritto.

jet summed things up nicely. I would only add, the 1.42 will have a slightly different personality than say, the 1.32 GOG stone. You might ask Jon to do a comparison video to see if you prefer one over the other. There''s no right or wrong here, just different.

Thanks Ellen, that''s an excellent suggestion.

Thanks all for the help.

Welcome!
