Hello, I am looking for diamonds for studs, and would appreciate any help I can get from the experts on this site. I am setting my goal to approx. 2.2-2.5 ctw, H-I, VS2-SI1.
Considering WF due to the wonderful reports on this site, but open to other vendors. I don't think an upgrade will be needed. I found this pair, but the 1.22 ct. has a knot -opinions on this? I thought a knot was always bad, but wondering why WF would offer it if that is the case?
WF -GIA#2364885885-1.22 ct I VS2
WF -AGS#104113202001-1.265ct I SI1

Ask WF about it. Maybe you can speak to the gemologist about it. It might be at the VS2 level it is not an issue but best to ask.
Two beautiful stones btw!

There was a recent thread about knots, and @Karl_K provided some great points that I think applies to anyone considering a stone with knots.

The biggest danger with a knot is that the crystal gets knocked out leaving a large hole and lowering the clarity grade as well as being eye visisible once it fills with gunk.
There is far less chance of that happening with a small knot on the pavilion than on the crown.
So as long as the crystal is secure I dont have a huge problem with small knots on the pavilion.
That said if the stone is not something special I would consider passing on it for one without a knot if available.

These would make a really nice set, gives you a color bump and the proportions are dreamy and very well matched!

If nothing else, put them on reserve, so someone doesn't snatch them up.

1.128 H-VS2, 55.3 table, 34.5c/40.8p
1.130 H-VS2, 55.4 table, 34.4c/40.8p

Thank you for the knot thread reference-very informative. Also, thanks for the diamond suggestions-will look at them now!
