Hey everyone. The journey of diamond searching has begun for me. I am excited and also scared at the same time. I am looking to pop the question sometime this fall so i decided i should start looking now. Budget is 20K CDN including the setting. I have done some homework and as well have read through countless forum postings here on Pricescope. I have narrowed down some specs to the following below. Priority for the gal is carat size and sparkle. I am leaning towards buying from Brian Gavin/White Flash (I know Brian gavin's history with white Flash) and James Allen.
Diamond shape: Round
Carat - 1.4 to 1.6
Cut - Hearts and arrows/Ideal ( Should i focus on ideal cut more as i believe if i select H&A, the size of the carat may drop as the price would be more higher based on what i have seen so far)
Clarity - VS2 and up a few levels
Color - H-F
Fluorescence - No
Girdle - thin to Medium
I will also be focusing on the depth and table percentages when i look at each diamond.
What are your thoughts? Is my range above reasonable and if not, what are your feedback on the 4c's i should be focusing on thats in my budget? Anything i should be aware of during my journey search? I have looked at the inventory for the above 3 suppliers and nothing really stand out for me. Is there anyone that you may have saw or think is really nice as i may have missed something?
