Diamond Search (N00b)

I am on the search for a diamond for my GF of 3.5 years. My budget is around $4,300-$5,000 including a tiffany sollataire setting (Platinum). I went today to a local jewler and found a diamond that I thought looked great , but wasn''t too sure about the price. Based on my research it looks to be priced very high and not a good diamond.

The jeweler is asking for $5,500 including a setting. He attributes $5,000 to the diamond and a deal on the setting of $500. Please see the specs below as I assume the girdle thickness is too much as the HCA would not run for this diamond.

yes, that girdle is extremely thick

it faces up like a .85

yes, but it is easier to just remember what "key" carat weights face-up as

6 mm .8 ct
6.2 mm .9 ct
6.5 mm 1 ct.

I have to say yuck also, the depth is way too deep too and the diamond is facing up very small for the weight. I would pass on this one.
