Diamond Search in Singapore - online vs B&M

Hi all

I am currently shopping for diamond together with a friend.We started shopping for our diamond and visited various shops ( LARRY , LEE HWA, SOO KEE etc.)

So far the best prices diamond that my friend found is at one of the reputated shop. The specs and price are below

0.55 Carat
E Colour
VS1
AGS Certified Triple IDEAL 0
flourense neligible
without laser inscription

The price is about S$ 5100 after 15% discount... about USD$3000
Is this a good buy as my friend is interested in it. Very reputated store in Singapore for more than 20 years.

Some shops sell about S$6000 / USD 3500 for 0.52 D VS1 AGS triple ideal 0
Why is there so much of a difference between AGS triple ideal 0 diamonds?

Is there anyone in Singapore who buy from online stores before? Please provide us with some feedback on the purchases as we are very worried about buying from the net.

Looking at some GOG diamonds. Do anyone know that whether they are give the AGS cert and also laser inscription on their diamonds. It is sort of a citeria to me.. although i have understood from the forums that they offer good diamonds

GOG has both types of certs. It seems like his higher performers on the BScope and ISee2 are usually GIA Ex/Ex. I think if you ask for the laser inscription it is free. I have to check on that one myself as I just bought a stone from him. It does say they will do it on their website.
