Back in Feb to March of 2006 I was hunting for a new mounting for my diamond when I discovered pricescope.

Instead of a new mounting, we ending up getting an entirely new ring.

It is very special to me.

I went from a EGL Deep-Cut 0.58 ct RB G-H color SI-1 clarity set in a 14kt white gold 6 prong mounting.

To a GIA 0.53 ct Ideal-Cut Hearts & Arrows RB H color VS-2 clarity set in a Platinum 4 prong mounting.
30.gif

The original ring is still a very nice ring, it''s just me being the perfectionist that I am I knew if I didn''t try an Ideal-cut stone I would think about it everytime I looked at my ring. The SI-1 is eye clean but I always noticed colorless pinpoint like inclusions in the sunlight that bothered me. This is why I went from SI-1 to VS-2 and I am very glad that I did. The H color is not really noticeable for several reasons. 1.) It is an Ideal-cut 2.) It''s under 1 carat and so on.

Please let me know what you think.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

P.S. Sorry about the bad pictures, but I just got a new camera so I will take new pictures of both rings shortly!

You ring is very pretty! How do you like the 4 prong versus the 6? I am thinking of switching the head on my to 4, so just curious if you like yours better...

Yes I do like the 4-prong alot more then the 6-prong.

I think the 4 prong allows you to see more of the diamond and less of the metal.

Also lets the light into the stone better.

Just incase your wondering...

The new ring ..

The stone came from Dimend Scaasi.

And the mounting came from Abazias.

It was a real pleasure working with the nice gentlemen at Dimend Scaasi.

The best part about it was I got to view the stone on video before purchasing.

I also got the stone shipped in before deciding it was exactly what I wanted.

Seeing the stone loose just litterally blowed my mind.

I could not beileve how much it sparkled.

I also did quite a bit of research before deciding on what I wanted and purchasing.

I used the HCA to find a stone.

If I remember correctly, my stone scored an Excellent on everything.

I can post the information incase anyone want''s to check on it! lol

Yes. I am a firm beilever now in the cut of a diamond.

And so far, i've been lucky enough to get Ideal cut diamonds.

I just can't imagine why anyone would want to settle for less.

I even went smaller in size and color and clarity then I wanted to, just so I could get perfection in cutting.

Never scrafice cut I tell you!

Congratulations!! How about a shot of the two stones together? That way we can really compare them. They do look very different from each other.

Yes I would love to take a picture of the two stones together.

I will get on that as soon as I can!!

Call me crazy but I''ve worn both rings together on the same finger.

It''s a cool look.

Anyway, they are very different from each other.

And it is kind of funny actually because:

The first stone 0.58 has a bigger carat weight then the new one 0.53,

but the 0.53 appears alot larger because it is a better cut and has a better spread and large diameter.

Boy do I love how that works!

Come to think of it.

I''ve wanted to (scince I got the new ring)

to make the 0.58 ct stone into a pendant.

But i''ve read that deep cut stones donot work well for pendant stones.

So I haven''t acted yet.

I still want to tho.

Any Ideas?

I was thinking either a pendant

or a right hand ring in a non-solitare like design?

like maybe an antique like style with milgraining ooooo

It''s nice to be rewarded for picking a well cut stone isn''t it? Have fun with your photos and don''t forget the earrings.

Pictures as promised

You have no idea how difficult it was to capture the arrows in my Ideal-cut Diamond.

The original picture was much better, but due to the attachment file size limit, that''s as good as it gets.

I will post other pictures as well.

Best wishes to all.
