Diamond Reset

Hi everyone!

I currently have a radiant cut set in a traditional platinum solitaire. My fiance and I originally decided independently that we both liked platinum. What I didn't realize until about a year after having my ring is the patina finish it's currently having. I've taken it to get cleaned & also have an ultrasonic of my own and even though the diamond will sparkle, the band never looks as clean as it used to look.

I'm currently in the process of looking to have it reset in the Vatche X prong setting in white gold. I just wanted to see if you guys know if a radiant cut can be set in the X prong and if your white gold band still looks flashy once you get it cleaned. And if you guys have any vendor recs, that would be great! Thanks in advance

Hi! First of all, all you have to do is take a platinum ring to a jeweler to be polished once a year or however often it is needed. You probably have a soft alloy and we usually recommend the harder alloys that don't scratch as easily. I'd far rather have a platinum ring than a white gold one with rhodium that wears off and you see yellow gold showing through until it is replated.
