Frankly the stone is terrible. You need to get away from any jeweler telling you this stone is worthwhile. And you need to educate yourself so you actually understand, before you spend thousands of dollars, what you are purchasing and how to get the best value for your time and money. Start your education here: https://www.pricescope.com/wiki/diamonds/diamond-cut
Your stone is either one one in the middle or the far right (probably between the two). It will appear very small for it's carat weight (waste of money) it will not sparkle or perform or reflect light properly and will be dull and dead.
I would only like to spend around 8000.00, I know thats not a huge budget, but I am trying to do the best I can with that budget. I really appreciate the advice, I am so glad I asked, it sounds like everyone is in agreement!
You guys are really terrific. You save people from making huge mistakes! I would rather go smaller and get something beautiful than waste my money. I have around 8-9000.00. Any suggestions?
I am in the exact same boat as you. I have a little higher budget but not much. Really look into the qualities of a good diamond. It seems that cut is the biggest concern with a diamond. Check out all the great info on this website and figure out what is important to you. What color can you live with? Do you really want a VVS diamond or will you be happy with an eyeclean SI1 diamond. a great diamond that is maybe a little smaller is definitely WAY MORE preferable to a not so great larger diamond. What good is a diamond that doesn't sparkle?!!!
I have absolutly learned that I am concerned with cut! It really makes a difference in the stone. Color, I can live with a few grades down it it still looks white and sparkly! This decision is super hard and I have really been stressing about it and really trying to do whats right for me. It seems everyone on here is very knowledgeable, and helpful.
