Large diamond price drop this month, overall trend the last several months has been down.
Europe in a definite recession, slowdown in China, and US likely in or close to recession again. Don't believe the mainstream media and clown economists that the worst is behind us and central banks across the world can print our way out of this mess. They may be reinflating stocks, commodities, and real estate for the past couple of years; but they can't do it forever. Plan ahead.
In terms of diamond prices and consumers of diamonds, this is great news. Expect prices to continue to drop. If you're in the market for a diamond, wait. Next month may be an even better deal.
From the Diamond Price Chart post by Erika Winters:
Retail diamond prices decreased in June, reflecting sluggish Asian demand, a record-low Indian rupee, and US consumer demand for more affordable goods. Pricescope tracks retail diamond prices each month from a database of over 450,000 diamonds.
