Diamond opinion

Hello,

First let me say this website has a ton of information and I have learned a lot just by browsing over the past week. I live in the middle of nowhere and I have visited a few stores around here and when I tell them what I'm looking for they throw a catalog at me. I guess I'm supposed to find the perfect ring from a catalog. So this forum has been a godsend.

I am hoping to propose to my girlfriend in Europe in 1 month so my time frame is short. However, I have decided that finding a perfect ring is better than proposing in Europe, so if I don't get the ring by then it will be ok.

My girlfriend has shown me a couple times that she likes a halo cushion rings. I've taken mental notes, but always shrug her off and tell her maybe in a few more years, so this should be a big surprise to her!

I've contacted Steven Kirsch, Victor Canera, Leon Mege, and ERD for quotes and Diamond sourcing. They all seem very accommodating. ERD, specifically Chris, has sent me a couple of pics of 2 diamonds that he really likes. I like them too, but I was hoping for some opinions from the best source for diamonds and rings I have found- pricescope.

My price range is up to $9000 for the diamond and I was thinking somewhere around 1.25 carat so if it is cheaper, but beautiful that works too.

Oooooooooooh I love them both. They are gorgeous. Surprisingly I think I prefer the modern facet one better.

Can you post the ASET images for them?

I only have an ASET for the second one.



Chris did say this is a 1.04 (spread here is 6.13x6.10x4.06mm which is a huge spread for a 1.04carat) G-VS2 Cushion Brilliant but an even more rarer cut

I can ask for the other one.

Aww I'm so sad. It's got too much green and a dark ring under the table.

Get an ASET of the other one you originally posted as well.


I'm not loving the E SI 1.2 it's got a bow tie but it has a lot of red.

The EVVS is more pleasing to me, but it's ALMOST got too much green for me.

I must admit I don't exactly know what to look for. In addition to the 1.08 GOG has a 1.11 at a similar price. Does one of these look better than the other?

They'll both be really beautiful. The biggest difference is the shape, one being more rectangular. I think I'd go with the 1.08 because not only does it have a good spread, it's an H and will look a) slightly 'whiter' and b) more "cushion-like" in a halo at this size, but the 1.11 is really nice too.
