Diamond on hold - what questions do I ask now?

Hi Everyone -

Long time viewer, first time poster. I just put a diamond on hold (see below for link). I am looking for questions to ask of the feather and opinions from others on the position of it. It's a VS2 and I was told by Yoni and Eternity Diamonds that he verified (through inquiry) that it was eye clean.

I ran it through the HCA and it scored a 1.7.

My questions to the group:
- Would the positioning of the feather be a concern?
- On HCA: is there there a noticeable difference to the common person between say a 1.7 and a 0.3???
- Any concerns with the medium girdle?
- Any other questions I should be asking?

Hi Everyone - any opinions welcome, but quick correction: The HCA score was 1.3.

This should be a lovely diamond. It is a VS2 so there should be no problems with the feather.

Thanks for the replies. Only concern is I would be buying by the numbers and wouldn't actually see the diamond. I'm not sure I'm that concerned but read other threads which caution against it.

Do they have a return policy? Stones with those measurements will usually be fine. I just bought a non-H&A GIA XXX diamond and while not technically perfect, it does LOOK perfect to my eyes! I can't see where it is not as perfect as my other H&A stones. Sooo, my inclination is to not worry! But I'd be unlikely to ever buy without a return policy, just in case!

Ditto the return policy- always good practice to buy with a good return policy.
