Hello everyone! I need a liitle help please with a lasered diamond inscription on the girdle. It is a diamond round brilliant shaped logo seen from the side followed by eight numbers. I can see laser facets on the logo. We cannot find any paperwork for the stone. It had belonged to a late family member. We would like to know who lasered the diamond and how to find a certification report if it does have one. Thank you for your time in replying.

Hi there,

Are you able to see the inscription clearly? If so, can you describe the inscription in more detail? If not, perhaps a local jeweler can pop the diamond up under a lab scope and show you the inscription under something like 40x - 60x magnification... I imagine that the diamond shaped inscription might have more to it and the numbers to the side are either going to be a registry number for the brand or a lab report number.

Hi Todd, Thanks for replying. All I can say is the girdle is polished and faceted and the inscription is on the girdle and it starts by having the shape of a round cut diamond when viewed from the side. It is very small, about the same heigth as the numbers that follow it. It has eight numbers that follow the diamond logo. Under 15X I can see facets on the diamond logo. It is no longer than the length of the upper girdle facet. I do not know whether the logo stands for a company that cut and polished the diamond or a lab that did a report on it. I believe the diamond and setting is of European or English origin because it is in a platinum setting with what appears to be the queens profile facing right round stamped hallmark along with 950 and what appears to be the carat weight of the stone. It will always stay in the family but we are just curious to what it means. Thanks. Dave
