Dear Trial

I looked at the site you mentioned.

They say that their diamonds will appraise for double the selling price? That it very suspicious. Most likely the appraisal isn''t worth the papers its written on ( plus on some of the diamonds where they quote appraisal amounts it is not double the price offered) ... Strange if they claim all their diamonds "appraise for double the selling price".

This is an interesting page.... they have fancy blue diamonds... the prices are not realistic at all. If you page down all of the graphics of the blue diamonds are the same, showing a really intense blue... but in the color description it says fancy yellow.

Something is wrong with the pricing of the blue diamonds... Those kind of prices are indicitive of treated diamonds.
Check out ice store for prices on fancy blue diamonds ( if they have any - they are exceptionally rare).

Plus copies of the lab certificates are shown on the site.... Wonder why.... and nothing about the cut quality of the diamonds.

Also the return policy states that if the item is worn, they don''t make a refund. Now if that means that the item for seven days, shows some kind of unusual wear that is acceptable, but if you try the item on - then you don''t get a refund, well that appears a little strainge.

I think you could find a far better site to buy from.

If that were a natural 1.01ct fancy blue diamond in the 2.03ct Three Stone Ring, it would be the deal of the century (even if it is an "I1"). $5,600.
It even comes with three reports. "All diamonds are certified by E.G.L., G.I.A. and D.J.L.."

NO- I think they are real blue diamonds

Actually, a 1.00 Round Brilliant which GIA graded Fancy Intense Blue would look nothing like the photo the site uses.
If such a thing existed, it would easily be a million dollar stone.
As rare as blue diamonds are, I don''t ever recall seeing a round of deep blue color.
I''ve seen Radiant, Pear, Heart, Cushion, Oval and Marquise in natural blue colors.

I remember the first blue diamond I ever saw, back in the late eighties- a 1.00 Fancy Blue Pear Shape.
I plotzed when I found out the price- $30K.
Today it would likely be 5 times that

Hi Dave

I have seen some natural blues... but most were the color of lightish aquamarine. Last time was probably about 18 years ago, and even then prices were around $ 40 K per carat.. that price was to a reseller, not retail.

I did see an incredible turbo vivid blue one, but it was irradiated. Even in treated stones acheiving that color would be very uncommon. Most end up greenish blue.

Wish I had a blue pet rock diamond! Sigh.

Well there are the Blues on Display and the Smith.... The Hope and ( I think) the other one is the Eugenie.

I think the Eugenie one is about the finest one around.

Hey Doc- Here''s a Fancy Vivid Blue Heart shape we had a few years ago

Christie's sold a Blue recently. Sort of a light steely blue 6.21ct in a marquise shape set in a platinum and rose gold setting with two vivid purplish pink diamonds in pearshapes and baguettes on the shoulders.

The estimate was $400-600,0000, so not sure what it sold at...

Wait I found it. It was sold for 1.3 million. and it was nowhere near as pretty as some of the other blue stones they have sold.
