Diamond INSIDE mens wedding band

I want to surprise my fiance by getting a small diamond set inside his wedding band. I first saw it with Niwaka rings, but I think a few PSers have also had it done to their bands. I was wondering what size diamond will fit. Will a 4 or 5 pointer be too big?

Diamond*Dana - I think we''re going to stick with the standard 6mm or maybe slightly narrower at 5.5mm.

4 or 5 pointer will probably be fine. My husband has a small sapphire set into the inside of his ring by the way!

kcoursolle - I considered a sapphire too, but was thinking of giving him a diamond to match the diamonds in my rings. He wants a very simple band (satin finish with polished grooves). We looked at a ton of rings and he didn''t like anything with stones or engraving. SO I thought I''d give him a diamond on the inside. What does your hubby think of his band?

He loves his wedding band and it''s quite similar to what you are describing! He likes that it''s masculine and a little different than a plain band.

kcoursolle - His band is gorgeous!!! It''s very similar to what my FI picked out for himself. Do you happen to know what size the sapphire is? And did you surprise him with it? Or was it something he picked out?
