that looks like it could be it? Does anyone have those particular tweezers? Is there an industry term I can do a search for that style of "tweezer"?

Aha! It looks like it''s called a diamond pick-up tool

That''s the one shown in the lower image. It''s a barrel with 4 sprung wires which are pushed out by a plunger and retract to secure the stone when the plunger is released. Great tool for showing diamonds up to a certain size, or coloured stones up to about 4 carats.
