Diamond help

Hi all,

I started looking at diamonds a few weeks ago, and even though I've been furiously reading as much material as I can find, I realize that I'm barely scratching the surface. So I'm looking for a more informed opinion from anyone willing to help

This is a diamond I've been looking at pretty seriously; would appreciate any thoughts / comments to help guide me to a decision.

Certification: GIA
Carats: 1.95
Color: E
Cut: Excellent (Symmetry: Excellent, Polish: excellent)
Clarity: SI1 (but reportedly eye-clean)
Fluorescence: Medium Blue (one concern is the supposed color / fluorescence mismatch...)
HCA score: 3.7

Pricing is right around $20 - $21k. Would appreciate any and all thoughts on this. Thanks all!

Hi! Since you knew to calculate the HCA score, you probably also know that you want a score < 2.0. Can you get an Idealscope to assess light performance? You also want to confirm that the fluorescence doesn't impact the stone negatively.

not a fan of the high crown angle. I would continue looking for better options.

Thanks guys. No idealoscope image... but I think I agree with the HCA score not being great; I've found one alternative, was hoping someone could give me a relative comparison:

I like it better than the last one! In the absence of other info (Idealscope), I would pick this over the other. Make sure it's eye clean and I hope you're buying from a vendor with a return policy.

Thanks, Sortmon. I reached out to the site operators and unfortunately it seems like there's no idealoscope image available. Do you think its too much of a gamble without that?

Also, thanks to everyone who has replied so far and would be great to get any additional opinions. I'm getting very fascinated by all the thought and analysis that has to go into this decision so any further guidance from people who are more familiar with the terrain is very welcome.

I think they both look pretty good.

Who is the seller? If they have both stones in front of them, ask them which one they would pick.

Seller is online (Zoara). The person I briefly spoke with is also suggesting the second (although possibly because its more expensive...). My main concern is the inclusion in the table. Do people think this will be majorly detrimental?
