Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and have a very important question. I have already posted in another sub-forum but I guess I choose the wrong one. I hope I am right here.

I am torn between two diamonds.

First one:

1.21 carat, GIA Certificate, H Color, Ideal Cut (HCA Excellent 1.1), VS2 Clarity, Girdle: Thin to Medium
Measurements: 6.87 x 6.91 x 4.21 mm

Second one:

1.10 carat, GIA Certificate, H Color, Ideal Cut (HCA Excellent 0., VS2 Clarity, Girdle: Thin to Medium
Measurements: 6.63 x 6.66 x 4.08 mm

I wonder if the second diamond would look much smaller than the first. After all, the second one is approx. $2,500 cheaper!

What do you think, which diamond would you choose? Is the size difference very visible and does it justify the higher price?

TIA!

The zero HCA grade is really unusual and I would suspect you might not have entered the data properly to make any comparision at this point meaningful or not even wrong. Please post the data you entered for stone 2 and ask someone to process it for you if you don't get some realisitic output.

Oh sorry, it should be 0.8 instead of 0!

They are comparable stones, but one does weigh more and does also look larger. If the smaller one is near your spending limit, I'd say it is large enough to be very lovely and you can spend as you wish on mounting it. If funds are no issue, then go for the size which makes you feel "right"...

Unless you post the GIA grading reports I don't see how anyone could advise you properly on the differences.
