I cannot seem to figure this one out- When wearing a shared prong eternity, are the diamond girdles going to rub or wear out the er band next to it? The solitaire is set high enough so that the diamonds are lower than the head of the solitaire, but am just wondering if the eternity will mess up the solitaire band? it is not touching the solitaire prongs at all- so are they safe to wear next to each other? assuming it is a problem, wearing a spacer just ensures that the spacer gets scratched and not the er? isn't this bad for the diamond girdles? sorry if this has been asked before- i ran a search and it seems as if most of the info was regarding damage to the solitaire prongs and not band. both rings are platinum and the eternity is a a uprong. if anyone could clear that up for me, i would appreciate it.

It will start wearing away at your ER where ever it is touching. It may take a long time since it is a thicker part of the ring
instead of the prongs but it will start causing a scractched/dented area. It will not hurt the girdle of the diamonds (at least
I have never heard of this). The diamonds are way harder than the plat. A spacer ring (which is usually cheap) will save
your ER setting (which is usually expensive) from getting damage.

Thanks!
