What are your thoughts on old cuts that are encrusted? By encrusted I mean that they are set as clusters but also surrounded by metal that appears to bling? Ok. Here is the ring. For a number of years I admired a ring a colleague of mine had. Bc it was encrusted. But it was also super white diamonds—prob platinum.
Here is the ring that I’m contemplating. The center stone is tinted and does have inclusions. But the rest are all much nicer. I’m on the fence bc I don’t know if this type of encrusting looks too metallic. But an added bonus is the shape. Reminds me of Bella’s ring in Twilight. Lol

I think it’s pretty but I personally don’t prefer this type of setting because I feel like the main round stones blend too much and so I always want to take it apart and build something else with it ha ha.

I think this style can go either way. I love a “cobblestone” style like this too, but I find they can look a little messy if they aren’t perfectly intact or if the stones are too wonky.

I also prefer yellow gold for this style so the diamonds are more clearly distinguished. It’s hard to tell in your pics, but some of the stones look a little cloudy, so not sure it’s a thumbs up for me.

I’m on the fence bc the diamonds are not stunning, lol, but I love the oval elongated setting. The metallic part is what’s throwing me off.

Omg. Thank you! I didn’t know what this style was called!!

My pics are terrible! Even my ering looks cloudy! The stones are decent enough but I worry that I won’t like the gold areas. I think that I have only ever owned one cobblestone and I disliked it bc at the end of the day it looked like worn down gold but it’s bc the diamonds were few and far between.

I went back to magnify the pic and trace the gold. Lol. Lots of stones. I can’t tell if they are old cuts or if just a retro ring. The lighting at the pawn shop sucks!

Honest opinion, so please don’t be offended, I just don’t like it at all.
