Hey all,

I need some advice on what size/type earrings I should get for my fiancee. Her 35th Birthday is in two weeks and I would like to get her something special.

Her engagement ring is a princess cut: 2.6k F-VS2 with an additional 1karat worth of diamond baguettes running down the sides.
I want to get her diamond stud earings but don''t know how big is too big for earrings. I need some suggestions please.
I don''t want her earlobes falling to the floor if you know what I mean.
Something sexy, delicate and beautiful. I think she would want the cut to match her ring = Princess.

price range: max $8k-$10k

Thanks.

That is a nice budget. I would go for 2 ct totalweight (1 ct each ear). That would be lovely. If you want princess cut - I personally would go look at whiteflash and get one of their aca pricess cuts. I heard they are beautiful. Can''t go wrong with that!

Thanks Yellow,

Just a few questions.
Why Whiteflash? Are they less expensive than the other online retailers?

They are reasonably priced...but most love them because of their beautifully cut diamonds. The diamonds in my avatar are "a cut above" from wf and they sparkle more than anything else I''ve seen.

I bought my diamond studs from WF, and am very pleased!! I haven''t seen their princess cuts in person, but from the pics I have seen on here, they are beyond stunning.

I''m just not sure about 1 ct. princess stones for earrings. I wonder if girls with princess stones have round earrings? I just think round is better because you don''t have to worry about whether they are turned the right way or not.

I would look at infinity for princesses too. Contact winkjones.com

I have an asscher... but want round earrings.

Sorry, I now see you are saying princess.

I have a princess eng. ring and round diamond earrings. I didn''t want princess earrings because they turn in your ears and that would personally drive me nuts. I just really liked the rounds better for earrings.

Nice gift! I have a friend who has a set of princess earrings (and a princess pendant as well) to match her princess ring. It''s a great look. Her pendant is set on the angle, so it is like a diamond shape...she wears her earrings this way as well. She has heavy friction backs, so they stay put. I have just gone through the buying process with Whiteflash regarding a set of round studs and I couldn''t be happier. Excellent service (Celina is a jewel!

Forgot to tell you that my friend''s set are 2ctw...very nice!

Great info..

I am thinking about a set I found on Whiteflash:
aca
1.054 G si1
1.073 G Vs2

Do you think these are close enough to make a nice set, even though they have different clarity?

Also, price is about $11,600.. Isn't that a bit high priced for those stones? They are not even GIA cert??

If they are ACA, they are AGS cert, and that is equal or better than GIA. AGS is a very reputable lab along with GIA. That combination sounds great! And if those are AGS0 princess stones, you''d be getting very top quality! Excellent choice!

Yes, I checked and those are a great pair! I think they will run more like $12,000, though. But for over a carat each, top quality stones in a good color are just going to cost that much. You''ll have to go under a carat per ear if you want to go under $10,000 or lower the color.

I tried to find you a pair just under the ct. mark, which would be cheaper and still be a nice size, this is all I found.

This pair will run about 10,090.00 with bankwire. Don''t worry that the ct. amounts are different, the diameter is almost the same, which is what matters. And 1 color difference won''t be noticable either.
