This forum helped me a great deal when I bought my wife''s engagement ring. Wound up getting a hearts and arrows G colored at Good Old Gold. Couldn''t be happier. Now for our 1 year anniversary I''d like to get my wife diamond earrings approx .5-.6 carats each. When it comes to earrings are the 4 c''s that important? What is a good exapmle of what I should look for in earrings? I want something that will look very nice not only today but over time. Thanks.

Hi nj,

Lovely gift idea!!

Personally, I went with exceptional cut. They are not huge (.58 each), but they really show up and sparkle well. I got mine from WF, they''re ACA''s. They will definitely stand the test of time, and they''re upgradable if I choose.

I don''t know what your budget is, and I did a search on 3 sites for H-I .50-.60, and this was about it. WF also has Expert Selection, which you may know are stones that didn''t quite make ACA. They can be a great value and are just as pretty, but they only had 1 stone listed with that criteria. You could call to see if they have more not up.

These colors are fine for earrings, and I have 2 different colors, and you can''t tell.

5% off ACA''s with PS discount too.

that would be a wonderful gift!

I too went with WF''s ACA for my first pair of earrings, but much smaller than Ellen''s (mine is 0.3ish each). I just thought because i dont know much about diamonds, so i might as well get ACAs.

Of course i got all the help here from the girls and guys here before i took the plunge :) cant go wrong with aca :)

I also shopped for my diamond studs from Good Old Gold and WhiteFlash. I ended up with .75 H VS2''s from WF. But I actually think .5-.6 is a great size to wear all the time. But my answer would be that I wanted high quality diamonds even though they were for earrings. I do think H color is fine for ideal cut earring stones, though.
