Dear Diamond lovers,
I am so impressed with you all that I thought i would throw out a small problem for all of you l. I purchased diamond earrings for my niece and had them appraised by a jeweler who was so disparaging of buying on the internet I thought he would have a heart attack. He told me he was a certified gemologist and I gave him several colored stones to also appraise(in rings) I think his appraisal was low because I can't find anyting like it on the internet. All are higher priced. The earrings are beautiful. My niece went wild . She is only 21. I will give you the specifics . 14Kt white gold hinged mountings --gram weight 5.9 grams.

28 Genuine brilliant cut diamonds totaling .33 carats
32 -Genuine bbaguette cut diamonds totaling .96 cts

Total 1.29 cts --- baguettes in the middle with rounds on each side of the baguettes
Color H Clarity grade SI2/I 1

He appraised them for $895.00 I cant find anything near it for $1200.00--Turned out he wasn't a cert gemologist, just a jeweler

Sorry. Does this appraisal sound under-appraised or perhaps right?
Thanks Annette

i''m not sure what your question is but keep in mind, you should always have your jewelry appraised by an INDEPENDENT appraiser (one who does not sell jewelry) and not a jewler.
