If anybody out there has some free time and likes to look for bargains, I would love your help. I''m looking for a pair of studs. No more than 3.0 cttw no smaller than 2.90. Can be I or J, Si2 , as long as they face up good. I am one of those that bigger is better. But I want them to look clean and no yellow jumping out at u.
Your help is needed.
Thanks,
cwj

That''s a pretty narrow range you''ve listed, if I''m understanding correctly.......no less than 2.90 cwt but no more than 3.0 cwt. This means each stud has to be 1.45 to 1.5 each.

Being that it''s so tough to find stones in this range to begin with, you might have the most luck by contacting a vendor or two and having them look for you. Give them your specifics and let them do the hunting.

Thanks for your response, I'll just not such where to begin the search. I haven't ever tried to buy diamonds online. I dont really know who to shop with.
I really want as close to 3.0 cttw as I can get, anything bigger will be to big for my lope and I already have 1.85 cttw, so I want to be able to tell that they are bigger.

My suggestion would be to contact either WhiteFlash or Good Old Gold, both of whom specialize in ideal cut stones and have much experience in matching stones for earrings. I am really glad you have decided to go for 1.5 each! It''ll be unlikely to find a matched pair in the 1.4 range because few stones are cut in that size. So you need to be open to maybe 1.50 to 1.55 cts. By contacting them, you take all the guesswork out of it, and they can check all their suppliers to try to find matches. I have bought from both and can vouch for their quality and service.

I had a few minutes... how''s this for a matched pair... Not sure what your budget is, but if you don''t want any yellow, I wouldn''t rop below an H... Personally, I wouldn''t drop below an F...

sna77 and ds2006,
Thanks so much for taking time to look, both of those sound great. Maybe to high in grade for my wallet. Is there a way to look at wf for earring pairs and not single stones that I would have to match myself?

What I did was search the 1.5-1.6 range for ACA''s. You then check all those that are close in size and check the diameter and table measurements. You''ll have a very hard time finding stones in the 1.4 range. Right now, there just aren''t any in the I-J SI1 range that match. But WF gets new stones in every few weeks. I just prefer buying their stones as opposed to calling in virtual stones because theirs are usually better cut. You could call one of their sales people to tell them you want a pair of 1.5 I-J SI1/2 stones and they can keep an eye open for new inventory. Sometimes stones are sold before they make it to the website.

How about these 3.12ctw J SI1''s for about $15k? They score 1.3 and 1.2 on the HCA.
