Hey, I don''t know alot about diamonds, but I was wondering what the ideal 2kt. diamonds dimensions would be...like angle of cut, length of edges, etc. O...well I guess it also depends on the type of cut...well, I guess if you wouldn''t mind explaining and showing me the difference between cuts. I prefer round cuts...uh...yeah...I think that''s it...thanks...

There is a tutorial link at the top of this page. Read it.

Ok...read it...thanks...

There's also a tutorial here

Ok...how about this...can anybody give me the dimensions of a round brilliant diamond with weight of 1.99ct...uh...and the proportions in the picture...thanks...

Given that the theorectical diameter of a 2ct diamond should be 8.2mm, then your your total depth for such a diamond based on the parameters of the picture would be approximately 4.92mm to 5.00mm (or average of 4.96mm).

Ok...so you think this looks about right...uh...next message is a pic of the dimensions I came up with...with your suggestion that a 2ct diamonds diameter is about 8.2...so now, with these dimensions, can anyone give me the actual weight?

So...next question is what is the radius of a size 7 ring...and about how thick is the band...wide...Thanks...

Ring band, size 7 (US)
internal diameter: 0.683 in
max. thickness: 2-3mm, median 2.3*
width: choices run from 3mm to 10, 4.5mm median

* applying to the max thickness of the profile of the band (pipe, comfort fit, rounded, D-shape etc.)

PS: there is something unusual about your diamond model, I just can't pin it down. The crown looks high and the girdle region thin (meaning that the angles of the minor faces would need trimming). Not sure if this is it, but if you want to compare it with models resulting from measurements of real diamonds, you may want to try using the GemAdviser software on GoodOldGold website.

Good luck!

Ok, thanks...I'll work on it...Jonathan
