Diamond dealers in NYC

Hey All,

Im just wondering if anyone can recommend me some reputable dealers in NYC, Im travelling from Ireland in 2 weeks for 5 days so will be under a bit of pressure to get the ring im looking for. I have come accross some dealers like hanikens salvaore and co and firenze.

Also i was wondering how an independant appraisal works? do i have to buy the stones first and bring them myself to the appraiser and if they are not as advertised bring them back? Anyone know any good appraisers?
