Hello everybody,

I have a question for you experts out there. Which is the better round-brilliant diamond? I can''t decide. Keep in mind, they are both in the same pricing category of 1.5-1.99.

Diamond A:
1.61, D, VVS1, EX cut grade, EX polish, EX symmetry, faint flourescence
table 60%, depth 61.3%, crown angle 35, pavilion angle 41.4, very small culet

notes: the inclusion is tiny and to the very side - incredibly difficult to find.
this diamond doesn''t score very well on the online HCA.

Diamond B:
1.54, D, VVS2, EX cut grade, EX polish, EX symmetry, no flourescence
table 55%, depth 62.3%, crown angle 35, pavilion angle 40.8, no culet

notes: inclusions are not terribly difficult to view.
this diamond scores well on the online HCA.

What do you all think? A or B?

too little information too say if the second is a good one, skip the first one its a classic steep deep.(bleh)

Hey strmrdr,

What exactly is a "classic steep deep"? Does this mean the cut is incorrect? GIA gave it the EX EX EX.

What other information would you need for comparison purposes?

I''m new to all this so I''m still learning.

crown is too steep combined with a pavilion that is too deep and it hurts performance a bit.
GIA is wacked for including some of them and others are sorta ok.
35/41.4 is out of the sorta ok range.
