Diamond Comparison 2 carat round... Need to make a decision!

Please Help!

I have been working with good old gold (they have been excellent!).

Was wondering if a few of you could offer your opinions on the two stones linked below.

Should I save the money and go for the smaller stone? which one do you think is more brilliant or has a better AGS or ASET score?

They are both gorgeous stones. How big are her friends/sisters stones? Not saying you have to keep up with the Jones but if
Your budget can handle it the 2 carat is nice. If it's pushing the budget to much then the 1.8 would be lovely. Remember, she is going to be wearing this for a long time.

No reason not to go with the smaller if it's clean to your specifications, whatever they are, and you're comfortable with the size! The size difference will be noticeable if you compare both stones side by side, but alone, and set in a ring, it isn't sufficient justification for the extra $3k IMO, assuming clarity makes no visible difference. The 2.00 looks to have been proportioned as it was in part to make the 2ct weight mark.

1.8 looks like a brighter stone to me so I'd go with it. Size difference won't be as noticeable when set.

I'd go with the 2 ct. The aset looks cleaner and the inclusions are much more minimal. The 'arrows' are a bit more prominent.

Can you ask GOG to run the megascope on both stones? I'd love to quantify the difference between the 2 ASETs, do they say there is a visible difference (as the larger stone's ASET shows some light leakage). Also, they have a colorimeter, can they nail down which, if either, is higher J color? It would be interesting to hear what the have to say about the color comparison of the two. I didn't see the AGS reports for the inclusion plot, are there clouds or twinning wisps that might effect brilliance or transparency of either?

Without the above, if I had to chose given only what you've shared so far, I would lean toward the 1.8 ct. However, I'd push for the above info.
