Ok I posted a couple a days ago to help find something to do with my old diamond. I am going in tomorrow to sit down with with a local jeweler who comes very reguarded to create my ring. I talked with him in depth about my knowledge also. I have decided on a 3 stone setting with the .75 princess in the middle of 2 trillion cut peridots on the sides set in white gold. I am a little worred that the peridots may make the diamond look slightly yellow, the diamond is a H-I color. I have a G color H & A that I wear now and the pricess is warmer colored but looks pretty white as long as they are not next to each other. I love peridot and I hope to pass this on to my daughter later in life who also loves it and it is her birthstone. In the future I wish to take the 12 remaining diamonds and set them into a band with peridots to match. Any thoughts or has anyone seen them together like that???

Most peridots are yellowish green and MIGHT affect the look of the Princess stone or it might not. My concern is that peridots are rather "soft" and might not be able to make it past your daughter''s lifetime without some nicks and scratches if it is an everyday ring.

I love that idea! What a great way to turn the diamond into something you and your daughter will both cherish.

If you are concerned about the softness of the peridot or the color affecting the color of the princess, another idea would be to choose a setting with surprise diamonds, but use peridot instead. Like a legacy style halo setting with surprise peridot's on the sides.

But I like the trillion idea better :)
