Here''s another, in better focus.

Jackpot.

I can''t get enough of that ring!!

I think the best colour estimator I''ve seen is on the JA website. Not even sure how accurate that is either, but it looks pretty darn close on my monitor

The best thing about it is that between the shades you really can''t tell the difference, but then you go from D to H and whoa! Just like IRL, methinks.

Hmmmm.... I don't think so. Sorry, but that looks way off to me too. Here's my M against white tissue paper.

ETA: I'm also not claiming there is no difference between my M and a D. OF COURSE there is. In no way do I care that someone else has a whiter diamond LOL! I would have bought a teeny tiny little D if that were the case. I'm just saying, like many others, that this chart is WAAAAY off! And yes, to THIS consumer (obviously being me and only me

), anything D-G is overkill.

The chart is total BS. As others have pointed out, they are simply trying to show "gradations" with no reference to reality.
It IS possible to show the subtle differences in shade, as glitterata;s photos show

I agree with FB about some of his points.
I thought that this site was about education and honest replies. It seems more like a "buy a big, low-colour stone because that''s what we like here".
If you follow my "return of the steep/deep" thread, a few people have now been bold enough to stand up and state that they actually prefer steep/deep due to Tolk stones dark arrows. But on this board, anyone who likes a steep/deep would be persecuted and driven away.

Yes, posting a "counter opinion" here is likely to draw an overly negative reaction- however I don''t feel readers are steered towards low color bigger stones.

What a dreadful and inaccurate chart! The O colour (to me) is more representative of a Z.

Whoa. Way off.

Glitterata's pics (or her stunning rings!) are much more accurate to my personal experiences looking at diamonds for color.

Oh and FB, I own an F and have seen plenty of D's (actually have seen super ideal D-G-H-J side to side). It has nothing to do with being delusional and making anyone feel better. I took those suckers into different light and they were unset so I viewed them from all angles. And that's just not an accurate chart. As for preferences, we state our opinions and help people get the most bang for their buck. Not happy with the opinions on here... there are plenty of places that hype high color and clarity, I'm sure they'd love to have you.
