Has anyone ever tried Goddards Jewelry Cleaner:

http://www.goddards.com/html/productOrder.psp?item=707885

Drop ring in plastic jar with basket for a couple of minutes, brush off and rinse. It seem to do a quick and clean job with no ammonia.

Does anyone know whether this product could be harmful to diamonds, platinum or gold?

Thanks.

Are there ANY things to avoid when cleaning a diamond??

If it is set in white gold, avoid chlorine. It breaks down the alloy.

what if the diamond is not set, just loose?...Someone mentioned Ammonia is not good for it??

what would be the best cleaner?

Aminoia will not hurt the diamond. It is probally the best thing to clean the stone with. You need a degresser. Diamonds are attracted to greese. Mr. Clean, Windex, Amonia and other stuff like that is what you need to clean the stone.

Is it ok to clean a diamond that is set in white gold w/ Ammonia + water?? IF not how to clean something like that?

Yes. Do it all the time. We use Mr. Clean in the office. Also if you are going to spend the summer in the pool, take your white gold jewelry. Clorine is really not all that good for yellow gold either.
