I have been doing my diamond research and I came across this forum and found lots of people providing advice to an equally confused customer. It''s clear that this is a great venue to get more educated on the issues and I was wondering if you could give me a few minutes and provide me some of that same expertise.

I''m deciding between two diamonds. If you follow the link below, it will provide you with a very good side-by-side comparison. You can then click on the individual laboratory certifications, as well as the actual photos of the diamonds themselves (or at least they suggest that these are indeed the actual photos) with a loupe.

The price isn''t included but I will tell you that one of the diamonds is a couple hundred dollars less than the other ($3,500 vs. $3,300). I''d love to know which one you would select and if possible, a very brief explanation of why. And if you want to guess, which one do you think should be more expensive?

Thanks so much. I sincerely appreciate your assistance.

Hi Seth,

I''d love to help, but the link isn''t working for me. Can you make it clickable by chance?

Here you go, Ellen.

EDT: Seth, they both look very well cut from the numbers and photos. The IS image for the .82 very nice, as well. I don't think you are going to go wrong with either. You can always ask for an IS on the .90 if you want to see how those compare.
Thank you sir!

And I agree, they both look lovely, but if you want a true comparison, ask for an IS. If the .90 looks just as good, I'd go for that one, it's just slightly bigger. Always a plus!

Hmm...very similar on paper and in the photos. However, I think I like the .90 better. Seem to be fewer inclusions even though the rating is one degree lower in clarity than the .82 (maybe the inclusion is well placed). My philosophy is that you buy diamonds for aesthetic reasons, so what you see is more important that what''s on paper. both good choices though.

Personally I''d go for the .90. They both are cut well and the .90 will face up a little larger and give you that "one carat" appearance more or less.
