Ok first post here. You guys (people) really seem to know your stuff. I have a total budget of around 15-16k. I am looking for a round diamond engagement ring. I would like to stick with a color of H and a clarity of VS2.....of course anything better would be great. For size I am thinking I can get a great stone around 1.7cts. I want the stone to sparkle like crazy (priority #1). There are so many sites that offer their "better than ideal" cuts.

Given my budget (saving about $1500 for the setting) any reccomendations on a stone?

Yes definitly. I guess that brings about another main concern of mine. As long as the stone looks great to the naked eye i dont care so much about the clarity rating. I figured being new to this I would go VS2 and take the guess work out of it. Thank you very much for your help. If I call any of these vendors will they verify that the stone is infact "eye clean?"

You are welcome! And yes, definitely, a vendor such as Good old Gold, all the PS vendors in fact are very used to describing ' eyecleanliness' or lack of to their clients - just tell them your expectations and comfort level and they will be able to tell you if an diamond is a fit or not.

I just placed my order with white flash and I went back and forth via phone calls and email to find out if few of the stones were eye clean. They responded well. I even called James Allen for an SI2 stone I saw and he said it''s not eye clean. So to simply put vendors online will tell you if it''s eye clean or not
