J colour is fine in that size in my opinion, it will be a slightly softer white but still white even in that size, you might notice a teeny bit of warmth from the side but thats all.

Can you post the following please or the grading report?

Lab report
depth%
table%
crown and pavilion angles
girdle thickness
polish and symmetry grades
diameter
fluorescence if applicable
star and lower girdle facet percentages would also be useful if you could post those too.

Also you would need to check very carefully the diamond is eyeclean, that is a pretty big rock!

Here is a thread on J colour and I will post a video too, please only use these examples as a guide, remember a computer monitor or photo cannot accurately depict diamond colour or lack of and that there are factors which can affect how colour grades show themselves, also colour perception can vary.

If you aren't sure, go check out some similar size Peerless brand from Jareds or Hearts on Fire if there is a dealer near you.

Most welcome!

It looks very promising, do ask the rep at BN to check if it is eyeclean to your standards, they do have a good return policy so plenty of time to inspect it yourself.

If you look on the diamond diagram, it will say on the left and bottom of the report a measurement like 50% and the lower 75% as an example, these are the star and lower girdle measurements.

Can you post the diameter measurements too please?

BONUS as far as I am concerned!!!

the upper is 50% and the lower is 75%

the measurements on the cert are ... 8.84 -8.86 x 5.48mm

the clarity has very very minimal clouds and 3 small crystals...
there was no comment on the GIA cert stating...additional clouds not shown...i assume this would be a good thing as i hear excessive clouds can affect brilliance

thanks again!!

That looks fine thanks with the stars and LGF's. As there are grade setting clouds by the sound of it ( if these are marked on the clarity plot) then ask BN to check they are not impacting brilliance, or even better if you buy the diamond, get an independant appraiser to check it. Additional clouds not shown in the comments section isn't normally an issue. Occasionally clouds which are noted as grade setters could be an issue in SI clarities, " clouds not shown" usually aren't an issue.

That is what I would advise if you buy it, get an independant appraiser to inspect it for you, BN don't have the diamonds in house so this is what I would do to be on the safe side.

Appraiser tool - http://www.pricescope.com/appr_list.aspx

And you are most welcome, very glad to help!

Oh I would be ESCTATIC, 2.64 is a wonderful size!!! I definitely think she will be happy!!! Can you post the diameter of the diamond please ( that will be on the report) so I can see how it faces up for the weight? It will say something like 8.85 x 8.90 approximately as an example.

ETA - I think I have located the diameter for this diamond, it looks fine.

I would put the diamond on hold cbt ASAP, its a great stone and I wouldn't want to see if swiped out from under you, give BN a call, they can hold it for you.

sent them an email then!!!!

asked them to put it on hold for me!!

thanks!!

ill post some pics when its all soughted and i have recieved it...

CB

I would give them a call, especially as it is a holiday weekend they might not have full staff on board, give them a call to secure the stone otherwise it could sell before they see the email.

Good luck and keep us posted!!!

And its my pleasure to help!

Just thinking also just to make sure I have mentioned all the considerations, that is a pretty big rock, are you sure your lady would want one that big? Also a J colour is fine for many of us ( myself included) but some do prefer a higher colour. If you are sure she would be ok with this then fine, but I just wanted to mention these points.

Also make sure it is eyeclean as best you can with BN''s rep from all angles so you have a pretty good idea before ordering.

yeh i did speak to my girl friend about my diamond search...

she said if it comes down to it, size would be most important to her...

thanks again for so much of your help
