I have seen some posts where users have requested someone to run their diamond through DiamCalc. I was curious and was wondering if someone could do this for me also. I have been on the site for awhile now and I am interested in all of these great tools.

Data
GIA 0.80 Round Brilliant
Color - G
Clarity - SI1
6.00-6.04 x 3.67
Depth - 61.0%
Table - 56.3%
Crown - 34.6 (15.2%)
Pav - 40.9 (43.2%)
Culet - 0.8% (very small)

Girdle - thin to medium faceted.
Pol - Ex
Sym - Ex

Many thanks

Very nice looking set of angles Detox. It would help if you could include minor facet information such as lower halves and stars as it would give a more accurate picture of the stone, most preferably a 3d model for even better accuracy. However I''ll use some common minor facet measurements (55% stars, 80% lower girdle depth) as an example. I''ll put up a screen shot for ya but if you get the Gem Advisor software I can generate a virtual model for ya.

Just to give you an idea of how much the appearance of the diamond can change when we take the same measurements you''ve provided but alter the minor facet construction here''s an example of the variety of appearances these numbers can produce. For simplicity and for the sake of this example Detox I only altered the depth of the lower girdle (also called lower half) facets. These are relfector based images most similar to LightScope. If you''d like a different view let me know.

Where do I find the facet information? Is this listed on my Sarin report?

Thanks for running the data!

My pleasure detox.

In answer to your question regarding the measurements of the other facets, it should have them but it really depends on the hardware/software configuration of their Sarin. Ask for lower girdle or lower half measurements and star ratio. They should know what you''re talking about.

Well it might be too late. I already have the stone in my possession and the Sarin report that I have does not appear to have this information. The only additional info I have is

Girdle - 1.2% 1.0% Thin 0 1.7% Medium 0 0

The rest of the info is in my first post. Not sure if this makes a difference or not. Certainly each of those adjusted images look different.

Thanks

You may want to consider sending it to one of the PS appraisers if you''d like more details. Appraisers with whom I am familiar with who do an *EXCELLENT* job and perform optical analysis on diamonds are ... (not necessarilly in this order as each of them are awesome)

Rich Sherwood http://www.sarasotagemlab.com/
Neil Beatty http://www.gemlab.us/
RockDoc http://www.consumersgemlab.com/index.shtml
Dave Atlas http://www.gemappraisers.com/

If you''re in the NY area I''d be happy to help but these are the boyees and I know you will be served well by any of them.

Good luck to ya Detox and congrats on your upcoming engagement.

Warm regards,
