DFW Area Pricescopers come in please

I have an appointment this week with Steve Jarvis of Dallas Jewelry Appraisals to appraise/map my three diamonds before having them reset by Whiteflash. Any opinions or experiences with him?
His website says that he is a Graduate Gemologist and NAJA.

Also- any questions I should ask?

As you can see I am new to this, and this website has been such a huge blessing!

I believe I met Mr. Jarvis at a local GIA alumni association event. If I recall him correctly he’s well-spoken and a true independent; not involved in selling gems or jewelry.

If you have the time see if he'll allow you to observe the appraisal process. That is the best way to bring your natural questions to the surface. He should have an array of standard gemological instruments (though many mainstream appraisers do not have some of the cut-focused tools we talk about on PS, such as ideal-scope & ASET) and the session can be very educational.

I have sent a number of clients his way over the past few years...I have never heard anything but positive feedback about him. I don''t know him personally however...my only knowledge of him comes from what customers that I have recommended have told me.

My jeweler sent my diamond and then my finished ring to him for appraisal. I was pleased with the outcome!
