I'd guess you're right, usually.
But maybe there are people so rich that they wear these things daily.
If it gets dirty they can throw it away and buy some more.

I saw the Rolex Paul Newman on Antiques Roadshow. The gentleman purchased it in the 60s, used, for about $ 500.00. I believe and the appraiser called it a unicorn and estimated the value at $ 500k. It just goes to show, 'ya never know.
