Ok, so here goes....
My daughters boyfriend seems to be getting ready to buy an engagement ring!!!!
I just found out that they were at a mall in Long Island and walked into a jewelry store called Devotion.
I told them that they were not to buy a diamond at a mall, and am planning to go to a pricescope vendor.
Just curious , if anyone has heard of this jewelry store?????

The main Q is...is he looking at GIA graded stones?

I have no idea. I looked up devotion diamonds and it is portrayed as a "high end" jewelry shop. I read some of its info on the web site and
I think that they are portraying themselves as using GIA standards to grade their diamonds, but don't know if they are GIA graded diamonds.....

My daughter wants a marquise, and I want to go to GOG. This woman at the mall store said that she would call them when they get in marquise diamonds. I told my daughter that this place is probably not what they want.
Could someone look them up and tell me what they think?

You should tell him to only look for GIA/AGS graded stones.

Thank you for your help, will do!

"if a Devotion Diamond submitted to the GIA received a lower color and clarity grade than Devotion assigned, we will replace the diamond along with a $10,000 cash payment."

Notice how they say nothing about cut

It might be good to give them the contact info for GOG and tell them to surf the GOG website & call Jon or David.
That way you're out of the middle and they will have great help that you all can rely on!

Thanks guys, hear you loud and clear!

Just wanted to share this......
Funny, the illustrated sample of their diamond is a horrible cut... :knockout:

Grace has a couple GIA/AGS marquise diamonds ... Not sure what sizes and colors are being considered. Maybe you can convince them to browse the stores for what she might like, and come to you for help when they have an idea on cut, size, color, etc. Good luck & congratulations!

Thank you JoCoJenn. Those diamonds are pretty, but she wants a higher color. The 25,000 dollar one is a beauty, but way over budget !
Gypsy, I am taking your advice and direct them to GOG!!!! Hopefully, they will go soon. It's about time, they've been dating for 8 years!!!!!!
Will keep you posted when it happens!!!!

@babs - sounds like a great plan, since they are close enough to GOG to go in person. You have the peace of mind knowing they will be in good hands, and still let's the FSIL "remain in the drivers seat" on the purchase. :appl:

Amen to that!!!! :appl: :appl:

Ok, so I'm ready to go to GOG, but just read about a huge price difference in settings . Seems since 1910 settings are less money for the same setting..... Should I look for diamomd at 1912 also?

Hello,
I am located in NY and have been inside Devotion Diamond in the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City long island and they are very expensive and dont carry a lot of diamonds or settings. Everthing they have is on display inside the glass boxes.
I would not buy a diamond from this store when you have so many other options in New York and Good old Gold is also on long island just go to Massapequa Park and take a look at what GOG has to offer.
if they don't find anything in their price range at GOG, then there are other vendors in NY that can help fit their budget needs for the perfect diamond.
