Hi all, as per my previous post I have settled on a 1.4ct D VS2 lab grown.

This is the setting I have chosen - solitaire with a pavé band and hidden halo. It will be a duo tone setting, with the band being yellow gold and the claws in platinum.

They have asked if I want the halo part to also be yellow gold or if I would like platinum. Below is the design in both single metal options. Which do people feel would look better - halo in platinum like the claws, or in yellow gold like the band?

I think the contrast of the yellow gold halo against the platinum would be nice

Very fast Photoshop for you to compare the looks. Both are nice, just depends on personal taste!

Honestly the way this setting is - I'd do the band AND prongs in platinum and the hidden halo in yellow gold or the other way around. It looks like the prongs are supposed to be sprouting from the band where it goes up into the halo, and that look is not achieved when the band and prongs are different colors.

I happen to LOVE the contrast of the
yg with the diamond so I’m biased.

Nice work with those photoshopped pictures, Emmy12. It certainly gives a clear image of how the completed ring will look with either finish.

I personally like the gold halo with the platinum prongs but either look is lovely.

I like platinum because it makes it look like all one “head.” But what matters is what you like.

Totally missed all these replies I’m sorry! Thank you for the photoshopped images :) I ended up going platinum halo and prongs - here is the mock-up. E6E6F38F-E0E7-481B-A7B3-4D33C3FD2EED.jpeg

Looks good! Please come back to share when it's finished! :)
