HI,

If TABLE IS 55% and DEPTH is 61.1% in a 1.01 ct...

Is this considered good or deep?

Thank you for all the help!

From the point of view of doing preliminary screening, using some rough tools, that should be good news.

But, if you think of even GIA''s current approach to grading diamonds as second generation, and AGS as third generation (along with HCA), using Table and depth to define quality is first generation at best, and an old standard.

This chart confirms that table & depth data to be considered good, but, as this chart shows, only good as part of other characteristics, including info on crown & pavilion. Generally, although the old formula and charts did capture only, or primarily, table & depth info, as documented still here in the tutorial, for meaningful evaluation, you want more.

Do read the tutorial here for more background.
