I have a choice these 2 heart shaped stones:

Stone 1:

carat - 1.1
color - H
cut - good
clarity - SI2
depth - 62.1%
table - 60%
l/w - .96

Stone 2:

carat - 1.25
color - H
cut - very good
clarity - SI2
depth - 60.5
table - 58%
l/w - .91

Also .... stone 2 is about $1,000 cheaper. Stone 1 is from Robins Bros and Stone 2 is from Bluenile.

Do you have photos of the two stones? You can''t pick a fancy shape diamond without seeing them.

That''s what I''m afraid of .... one of them I have in hand ... Stone 1 (from Robins Bros)

But I saw that I can get Stone 2 from Bluenile for cheaper and it being a bigger size, and better cut)

With SI2''s, you also have to see them to know. But if the Blue Nile stone is larger and costs less, you''d better believe I''d send for it to compare. Is this for a ring?

Yes it''s for an engagement ring.

I have the Robins Bros ring in hand, but have doubts that we were pushed a little bit with the purchase.

And how to find bluenile ... and to see their quality and reputation and good price, I want to compare.

In addition to your own eyeballs I would advise that a good independent appraiser be included. This could prove to be a very prudent (and minor) investment. There are some tricks to cutting fancy shapes like this - faceting strategies like a French tip to protect the point - and since these shapes are often cut from irregular rough they may have clarity/durability features best examined by an expert, especially in the SI range.

Rodman,
I really cannot tell you anymore about the 2 hearts without actual pictures of the stone. You might want to bite the bullet and order the BN stone so that YOU can see it for yourself and compare it to the Robbin stone. Heart shapes (or fancies) have to be seen to be judged, which we can''t over computer screens.

If you don''t like the BN stone for whatever reason, you have their 30 day no fuss return policy. Also, since they are both SI2 stones, I''d check both stones very closely for eye visible inclusions that might be visible to the naked eye from the top down view.
