Hello friends,
I posted in the Antique & Vintage category (https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/demantoid-diamond-new-project.212085/) but thought maybe that was the wrong place, so I hope it's ok to post the question here, as well.

I bought this ring to make earrings. My questions are, who should I send them to, for a sympathetic conversion to studs, and can tiny worn-down Demantoids be replaced anymore?

Thanks for your thoughts. :saint:

To answer this part of your post, yes. Small demantoids are much easier to find than larger ones. Are you specifically looking for the chrome green Russians or are you open to the lighter yellowish green Africans?

There's a Russian website that sells part of the trickle being mined now in the Urals. There is a PSer who bought a larger demantoid from them and was happy. Their prices are fine. If you contact them with exactly what you need they might be able to put together a parcel for you.

Litnon may be able to put something together for you:

Jeff Davies sells small Namibian demantoids and will most likely be able to source or cut a parcel for your exact needs.

Thank you for replying and for the links; I really appreciate it. :twirl:

This is the best place to post about settings and diamond jewelry projects. Very few people look at the antique and vintage forum compared to this one. Most of our custom jeweler makers don't take repair projects, but if you plan to have the settings remade from scratch, David Klass might be a good choice.

I've sent a few items off to be modified without any issues but none of them are with PS favoured vendors, who tend to work with new settings, either custom or ready-made settings. The demantoids look prong set so I think replacing the worn melees should not be an issue. Trying to match the size and colour might prove to be a challenge though and I'm not sure how costly such a parcel would be.
