I sure do hope you can help me come up with a bright idea! Delemza I know you have a Michael b. ring and Mrssalvo I know you know alot about Michael b. rings.

I have a the petite crown lace wedding band as well as one of the wisps. I just got a 1.85 J Vs2 round FIC diamond- yeah! My current engagement ring is a Tacori halo ( that by the way- I love!) I believe it is 2520. I just love how delicate it is!!!!!

Just a heads up, I already have a 2 carat 3 stone ring for my right hand that I really do want to wear on my right hand. Just didn''t want you to say to wear my engagement ring on my right hand.

My wisp and wedding band don''t fit with my engagement ring. The base of the head if you will sticks out too much. Also, the Tacori ring is more squared and the crown petite lace wedding band is rounded. That is problem #1. problem #2 is that the petite crown lace engagement ring is a 4 prong, I am scared of chipping my diamond!!!!! Problem # 3 is cash flow. If I stick with Tacori, they will let me trade in both my engagement ring ( as well as my Tacori wedding band) for a new engagement ring and give me half back on my 2 rings. I just don''t think I am finding the ring that will work best at Tacori and yet I do so love that delicate halo and think it is best for me since I am harder on my jewelry.

I have been racking my brain trying to figure this out. I have to do a new engagement ring no matter what because I just upgraded my diamond. I would be so grateful for any and all ideas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What I really need is a Michael b. band and a Tacori head(with Halo) that doesn''t stick out to far at the base too much.

Am I really asking so much?!!!!! I have a feeling yes!!!!!!!

Thanks ladies for all and any advice- it is greatly appreciated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Patty --

Just so I'm sure I have this right: You have a Michael B crown lace wedding band as well as a Tacori engagement ring and matching wedding band. You upgraded your diamond and now need to find a new engagement ring setting, but want to wear it with your Michael B band, not your Tacori band. None of the Tacori rings you've looked at fit with your Michael B band, but you don't want to get the matching Michael B setting because it has a 4 prong head. You feel like you should stick with Tacori because of their buy-back policy even though you can't find what you want. Did I get that right?

If so, I'm afraid I only have a couple of suggestions:

1. If you must stick with Tacori and can't find a setting that fits with your Michael B, get the same halo setting you have now for your bigger diamond and wear it with the matching band you already have. I know that doesn't totally solve the problem because you won't be able to wear your Michael B wedding band as part of your set, but I'm not sure how to accomplish that while sticking with Tacori.

2. If you don't have to go with Tacori, you're sure you don't want the matching Michael B engagement ring, AND there is no other ring in the Michael B line that would work with the crown lace band, I would recommend having something custom made. That way you can incorporate the things you like about each ring while making sure it will fit with your wedding band.

Hopefully MrsSalvo will see this because she knows the Michael B line much better than I do. She's also a font of knowledge when it comes to other designer settings and maybe she'll have a good idea for you.

Oh, for whatever it's worth, I don't think it's necessary to worry too much about having a 4 prong head as long as your ring is insured. If that's the only thing stopping you from getting the matching Michael B engagement ring, I would just get insurance and be done with it. That's really the simplest solution.

Hope that helps a bit! Good luck!

What I really need is a Michael b. band and a Tacori head(with Halo) that doesn''t stick out to far at the base too much.

#1- I think you''re going to have to decide if you want really want to stick with Tacori or use your MB bands and find a ring that will go with them. If you want to stick with Tacori, get the setting made for your larger stone and wear the band that matches it. you can always wear your MB bands on days you don''t want to wear your wedding set. I''d get a second wisp band to wear on the other side of the lace and just wear the 3 rings stacked when you don''t want your big diamond on.

#2- I wouldn''t worry about the 4 prongs at all. there are ladies here with 3+ carat diamonds and 4 prongs...like dem. said, make sure it''s insured but I wouldn''t worry about it if safety is what''s holding you back

#3- i can understand wanting to find the best $ solution. I''m just one who thinks you shouldn''t settle just because of deal. if you really want to keep your tacori, do the deal if not you can always sell your tacori on consignment somewhere to recoup some of the money and use it toward something you really want and will love.

Michael b does make halo settings that would work with your bands. have you looked at any of them? they will also do a little customizing.

Dem''s idea of going custom is always an option.

Do you have a picture of your tacori?

Delemza thank you so much for your reply! I know it is long and kind of confusing story. I have a Tacori engagement ring that won''t fit my upgrade. I have 3 wedding bands. The Tacori wedding band I use to have soldered- hated that, had it unsoldered, but the head of the engagement ring sticks out to far at the base if you will, so I can''t even wear the matching Tacori wedding band with it!

I also have 2 Michael b. bands. The petite crown lace and the diamond eternity wisp. The wisp doesn''t even fit with the Tacori engagment ring.
I do have my rings insured, so maybe I can go that route with the 4 prong. I am just frustrated because I could at least get half of my money back from Tacori.

I really don''t want to go custom if I can avoid it. I have looked at a lot of rings and have not found one that has the halo Tacori does. Perhaps I can''t have it all, but I do feel that the Michael b. petite crown lace is a unique shape even if I did a plain all paltinum wedding band.

Speaking of which, the petite crown lace engagement ring can be made with out the diamonds for a lot less. I wonder if you think that would look good together?

Thanks again!!!!!!!!!

Do you dislike a gap between the engagement ring and wedding ring? Are you only looking for rings that have a perfectly flush fit? If that's the case, it does limit your options just a bit. Personally, I really like when there's a little gap between the rings, but I realize not everyone feels that way. If you don't want to go custom and you want a flush fit, I would go for the matching Michael B crown lace engagement setting. And if you get another wisp band, as MrsSalvo suggests, you would really have a lot of options.

I'm sure the plain crown lace (without diamonds) would look very nice with your bands. I actually thought about getting one myself, but I figured there wasn't much point in getting a Michael B if I wasn't getting pave. I would think someone like Leon could do a much more elegant (and maybe even cheaper) solitaire if that is the look you're wanting. If I was going to go with Michael B, I wanted some kind of pave design since that is really what he's known for. And the crown lace is really such a unique design too. It's pave and solitaire all rolled up into one. I'm biased of course

.

Have you thought about selling your Tacori on consignment or Ebay?

Both of you are wonderful! Thank you ladies! I think I am going to try to find a way to go without the Tacori. While I don''t care if there is a gap, the jeweler where I got my Tacori at is quite certain that any wedding ring will damage the head.

I so love my new diamond! It is a FIC, it kind of reminds me of the older cut diamonds. Maybe it is in my head, but the facets are chunky to me. It would look pretty in just the 4 prong and I will just have to be brave and insured!!!

I am waiting to hear back if they will give me a something for my Tacori''s. Depending on that I will go with either the petite crown lace engagement ring with or without the pave. Keep your fingers crossed that they give me a good price so I can get the pave!!!!!!!

I will definitely be getting another wisp when I get recovered from all of these expenses. I adore both the lace and the wisp. I really needed to hear some good advice. My head was hurting!!!!

Thanks for all of your great advice- both of you!!!!!!

If only I had a money tree to pick, these decisions would sure be easier!

that sounds like a great plan. I really adore the lace, it was a top contender for my upgrade too.

you might also try contacting Pearlmans and at least get a quote on what they would give you on a trade or consignment for your tacori. they sell micheal b too and who knows where you might land. at least you''d have something to compare your jewelers quote too.

Delemza sorry to bother you again, but I have seen other crown lace rings, and the prongs are not all the same. I LOVE your prongs A LOT!!!!!!
May I ask you what they are called?

Thank you!!!!!!!

Thanks! I don't really know that my prongs have a name. I do know what you mean, though, that not all MB prongs look exactly the same. As I understand it, MB has three jewelers working for him and I would imagine they each have their own style. I guess I would just specify that you would like the prong tips pointed. Or perhaps you could give them a picture of my ring. They engrave the inside of the shank with the initial of the jeweler who made that particular ring -- my ring is engraved with the initial "G", so perhaps you could ask for that jeweler to make your ring? Hope that helps!

Demelza - I just realized I spelled your name wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooo sorry!!!!!! Please forgive me! Thanks for saying I could use your pictures, I adore your prongs they are just perfect. I have a M in my crown lace wb and a S in my wisp so it''s good to know what initial your setter has- thank you!

Mrssalvo I have been remiss, I need to tell you how stunning your new ring is! Absolutely breath taking!!!!!!

I am for sure going to go with the Michael b. er. I am still torn about the lace or the lace all platinum. I really think the all platinum will give it more of the solitare look and not so matchy matchy since I have the pave on my wisp and the lace wb, not too mention it is almost 2,000 less. I will decide on Mon. and let you know.

I can''t wait to get the diamond set and take lots of pictures of my new diamond and bands!

A very big thank you to both of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have been a huge help!!!
