Hi there I had just purchased the ideal light and realised that the plastic holding the diamonds is not of an exact fit. Is that the way it should be? I thought that it should be able to be sloted onto the Ideal light? advise pls! Is it a defective piece? pls let me know soon so I can ask for a replacement. Thanks in advance.

We have those trays custom made and if it is firm it should clip in with a little pressure.
It is unlikely you could damage anything by pushing too hard.

Or if it is a little loose a little tiny drop of almost any glue may solve the problem.

If that does not work send it back and we will replace it asap

Hi Garry,

Thanks for the reply! The plastic tray does not fit at all, the dimension is just not right. The tray is too wide to be able to slot into the ideal light. I had requested for a replacement of the plastic tray from Arthur, however he said that they are not meant to be of a exact fit, the platistic tray should just rest on the Ideal light. I am from Singapore, just received the beginner scope kit yesterday its great!!:) I will appreciate if you can provide a replacement of the plastic tray:) or do you need me to send the Ideal light back to you, to ensure that the new replacement plastic will fit?tks

Try dropping in the plastic plate from the front. Don''t slide it into the slot that is on top. I had that same issue and wondered what the problem was until I just pushed it into place from the front. It snaps in nice and snug.

Hi Tommy! tks for the reply. I had tried to apply pressure from the front, however it still does not fit in. Its too wide at the side.I was wondering even if you managed to slot it in snugly with pressure, you will not be able to slide it out easily should you need to take photo with the IS. I am referring to the upside-down method, shown here http://www.ideal-scope.com/1.taking_IS_photos.asp. Hopefully they are able to provide with a replacement of a fitting tray. If not I will have to think of a way to file down the side width:)
