Longtime lurker, first time poster...
Let me start by thanking all of the regular contributors here for building up such a great informational resource. Ring shopping is so stressful that it is a tremendous relief to find a place where excellent information comes provided in such a welcoming manner. I''ve been lurking for a while, reading, searching and planning and finally feel ready to ask for some help. My girlfriend has been patient enough and I''m ready to move this process forward. Hopefully I won''t come off as hopelessly uninformed.
What I know she wants:
Stone: Princess cut, ~1ct, pretty
Setting: Solitaire, Platinum preferred, WG OK. Relatively low set, open to bezel, half-bezel, trellis style settings. Not into engraved/complicated settings. Simple is good, but not too "prongy". Soft lines (vs. hard lines/angles)
What I know I want:
Stone: You''ve all converted me to Cut, so I''m mainly looking for a well-cut stone that has excellent light-performance. I could go as far as I color or SI1 if the stone is eyeclean and doesn''t scream "look at me I''m yellow!" I think I''m more inclined toward an I color VS1 than a H or G color SI1, but still flexible there.
Setting: Whatever she wants is what I want. I''ve been looking most closely at the Whiteflash W-prong for Princess and also the U prong.
Candidates:
All of these are pretty closely graded and all in the same price neighborhood. I''d kill to get some expert opinions on the group and which candidates I should cut and which ones should be finalists.
